Hospice and Medicare Part B Billing
Recorded On: 07/17/2019
Coordination of care with other healthcare providers is a requirement for hospices and presents numerous challenges. For several years CMS has been scrutinizing non-hospice spending for Part B services such as physician services, home health and DME. CMS has stated that it is their belief that hospices should be providing “virtually all” services for hospice patients and does not think that hospices are doing an adequate job with communicating relatedness decisions to those providers. This webinar will discuss the actions that hospices must take to ensure proper coordination and payment for services. In addition, we’ll look at the risks for palliative care providers based on physician services issues identified in audit activities by the OIG and Medicare Administrative Contractors.
Topics covered in this webinar include:
- CMS data on non-hospice spending for Part B services
- Coordination and communication with Part B providers for hospice patients
- Risk areas for physician services applicable to palliative care providers
- Documentation requirements for hospice and palliative care providers to address the topics above
