5-PART SERIES FREE Information Session: Back to the Future of Hospice Sales and Marketing

Offered each Wednesday in October, this 5-part webinar education series will offer a new sales and marketing strategy for hospice sales professionals and hospice executives. This new sales strategy is designed to 1) generate new hospice referrals by returning to the "grass roots" of hospice growth through active community education and engagement; and 2) highlight the "hospice solution" when partnering with other healthcare professionals including physicians, facilities, and other community healthcare resources. 

Each webinar includes real-life tools for success and will prepare each attendee to implement the new sales and marketing strategies immediately. At the conclusion of the five-part webinar series, the attendees will be prepared to immerse themselves in community hospice education and engagement activities in order to capitalize on "grass roots" sales efforts and partner professionally with other healthcare providers in a patient-specific, solution-driven manner.

  2. Returning to the Grass Roots of Hospice Growth: Community Education and Engagement (October 9th)
  3. Generational Selling (October 16th)
  4. Mastering Customer Engagement and Follow-up (October 23rd)
  5. Time Management for the Sales Professional (October 30th)

Each webinar is 60-minutes followed by a 10-minute Q&A session (via chat)
Wednesdays at 1pm ET / Noon CT / 11am MT / 10am PT.

Melanie Hill


Melanie Hill has over 22 years in the hospice industry. She worked for a national hospice company for over 16 years and has provided consulting services for various hospice companies since 2012.

Melanie joined Weatherbee Resources as an Associate Consultant in August, 2018 and works with hospice clients to identify and address knowledge and performance gaps related to employee engagement, leadership development, and sales team training. Melanie's extensive skill set allows her to partner with hospice organizations to create meaningful change for the entire organization. She understands recruiting, retaining, and developing employees in the hospice industry.

Melanie has provided thousands of hours of training and motivational speeches for hospice companies across the United States. She holds two Bachelor of Arts Degrees from Samford University and a Master of Science Degree in Counseling and Psychology from Troy University. 

Carrie Cooley, RN, MSN

Principal / Chief Executive Officer, Weatherbee Resources

Carrie Cooley is the Principal / Chief Operating Officer with Weatherbee Resources. Carrie joined Weatherbee in 2009 as an Associate Consultant and was hired as the Consulting Coordinator in 2012. In 2014, Carrie was promoted to Director of the Consulting Division and in July 2015, she assumed the COO position. Carrie's operational, clinical, and regulatory expertise has been instrumental in her professional growth with Weatherbee and in serving Weatherbee's clients. 

In her role as COO, Carrie leads the strategic growth initiatives for Weatherbee, providing invaluable expertise to individual hospices and the entire field. Carrie's mission is to prepare and support hospices navigating the ever-changing regulatory hospice environment. Carrie and the Weatherbee team focus on delivering consulting services and education that is specifically tailored to meet each client's individual needs. 

Carrie's regulatory expertise and extensive consulting experience includes forensic clinical record auditing, baseline compliance audits/mock surveys, interim management, clinical due diligence, and executive coaching. Carrie also works directly with clients' legal counsel in preparation for arbitration and other hearings; she serves as an expert witness. Weatherbee also works extensively with clients who are under a Corporate Integrity Agreement (CIA); Carrie and the Consulting team manage the Independent Review Organization (IRO) audit activities required by the Office of Inspector General (OIG). Carrie's excellent rapport with executives and staff alike – coupled with her regulatory and clinical acumen, and knowledge of best practices – assures excellent consulting outcomes. 

Under Carrie's leadership, Weatherbee has assisted hundreds of clients under investigation by Zone Program Integrity Contractors (ZPIC), Benefit Integrity Support Centers (BISC), Recovery Auditors (RA), the Department of Justice (DOJ), and OIG.  

As a member of Weatherbee's Speaker's Bureau, Carrie teaches a broad range of hospice, regulatory, and leadership-related topics nationally and is a member of the faculty for Weatherbee's renowned Hospice Regulatory Boot Camps. Carrie also frequently speaks at state and national hospice conferences on compliance-related topics.

Carrie is a registered nurse and holds a Master's degree from Samford University with a specialty in nursing leadership and healthcare finance.
